The Kaiserslautern plant is the central component production hub in Opel/Vauxhall’s European production network.

Currently lightweight components such as aluminum hoods, body-structure parts, engines and axles are produced there. Apart from the latest generation of 2.0-liter diesel engines, the Kaiserslautern plant also produces most of the bodywork components for the European “Car of the Year 2016”, the current Opel Astra.
